Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars were left devastated when groundbreaking Broadway actor Kyle Jean-Baptiste died on Friday night at the age of 21 after a tragic fall from his mother’s fire escape.
Ansel Elgort shared his memories of performing in a high school production of “Hairspray” while both attended New York’s famed performing arts high school, LaGuardia, together. “What I remember most above his talent was his warmth,” the “Divergent” actor wrote. “He went on to make history being the first black actor to play Jean Valjean on Broadway in lesmiz. Rest in peace brother. This tragedy shows that people can go in an instant, while we are here we must chase our dreams. Kyle did and he made history."
