It’s a long road to performing at Leeds Festival – and it starts the day you pick up a guitar or a keyboard or a microphone for the first time.

We spoke to some of the biggest acts at the festival to see who inspired the likes of Slaves, Ghostpoet and the Maccabees to get into music in the first place.

Seems like that inspiration did them all a lot of good judging from the response they got.
