Mount Pleasant stars: Comedy success down to 'recognisable' stories.

Mount Pleasant stars Sally Lindsay and Daniel Ryan have revealed the secret behind the show’s success – people can relate to the characters.

The pair, who reprise their roles as married couple Lisa and Dan Johnson in the Sky1 comedy-drama, said the programme isn’t too far from everyday life.

Daniel said: “Everything that happens in Mount Pleasant is recognisable. It’s a very familiar world for many couples to sit down and watch, and that’s what they get out of it. It’s real.”

Sally added: “We are like a normal couple and our families are just as barking as the rest of the world really. I think the big comment Dan and I get is, ‘It’s just like our house’.”
