Beckham Heartbroken Over Refugee Camp Visit.

David Beckham has said meeting children and their families living in a refugee camp in Djibouti broke his heart.

The former England footballer spoke to some of the 10,000 people living in the Ali Addeh camp as part of his role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

The camp is home to families who have fled violence or conflict in neighbouring Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia

It was the first time Beckham had visited a camp and he said: "It’s shocking to see how children’s lives can be turned upside down as a result of conflict and violence and as a father it breaks my heart to see children living in such difficult circumstances.

"All children, no matter where they live, deserve a fair chance in life."

Earlier this year, Beckham launched 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund to raise money for vital medical treatment and vaccinations for children.

He is currently travelling to every continent for a documentary about grassroots football.

Last week, he was photographed playing football in Nepal with a group of children who painted his face crimson and decorated him with marigold garlands.
