Downton Abbey's creator Julian Fellowes to receive International Emmy award.

Downton Abbey star Elizabeth McGovern will present the show's creator Julian Fellowes with his International Emmy award.

The 54-year-old actress, who played Countess of Grantham Lady Cora Crawley on the hit ITV period drama, will be joined by the programme's producer Gareth Neame as they hand over the 2015 International Emmy Founders prize to Fellowes.

Over eight million fans tuned in for the finale of Downton Abbey, which made its debut on British screens in September 2010, last Sunday.

Oscar-winning actor Michael Douglas will also be a presenter at the ceremony, as he presents the International Emmy Directorate Award to Richard Plepler, chairman and CEO of HBO.

The UK leads the year's nominations list, competing for seven accolades.

Sheridan Smith, 34, is up for best actress for her portrayal of late singer and entertainer Cilla Black in ITV drama Cilla, while Rafe Spall has received a best actor nomination for his role in Charlie Brooker's Black Mirror White Christmas, which was broadcast on Channel 4 in December 2014.
