Simon Cowell 'not proud' about affair with best friend's wife - but says fatherhood has changed him.

Simon Cowell has admitted he was “not proud” about his affair with partner Lauren Silverman, with whom he now has son Eric.

Lauren was married to Simon’s best friend Andrew when news she was pregnant with Simon’s child broke in July 2013.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday’s Event magazine, Simon said: “I’m not proud of the circumstances. I can’t hold my head up about it. But we have all moved on.”

The music mogul revealed the news came as a complete shock – he found out when he was called out of a meeting by his PA to answer an urgent phone call from Lauren.

“This was not something I planned. But I remember going to the first scan with Lauren.
