Unforgotten creator Chris Lang says second series will tell the story of another 'deeply historical case'

Unforgotten will be back for a second series – and it will follow a “new deeply historical case”, according to the show’s creator.

The first series reached its gripping finale on November 12.

Chris Lang revealed that aside from returning characters DCI Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker) and DS Sunil “Sunny” Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar), all the other characters will be new.

He told the Radio Times: “It would be a new story, a new deeply historical case and I’d just love to spend more time with those people and start to weave another story together.

“It’s endless possibilities for not just a second but a third too — who knows how many series.”
