Actress Jamie Lee Curtis has recreated her mother Janet Leigh’s iconic Psycho shower scene for hit new series Scream Queens.

A teaser for a new episode shows Jamie’s character Cathy Munsch being targeted by the Red Devil killer as she showers – a homage to the 1960 film, where Janet was slaughtered in the bathroom.

The actress is set to star in the upcoming Mommie Dearest episode.

Jamie, 56, is the daughter of Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis and has followed in her mother’s footsteps.

The scene is shot in black and white, a reference to the original, where Janet’s character Marion Crane was caught unaware by the killer as she showered.

Her mother’s iconic scene is recreated shot-for-shot – although it cuts off just before the villain pulls back the shower curtain, leaving viewers on a cliff-hanger.

Jamie has previously told Entertainment Weekly: “This is the perfect way to honour my mom.”

Scream Queens is a black horror comedy series, centring on a series of murders at an American sorority. Jamie plays the seductive dean of the university.
