The OA star says series is an alternative to 'overly violent' TV

Kingsley Ben-Adir has weighed in on his appearance in Netflix's The OA, identifying why he believes it's an alternative to "overly violent" TV.

The second season of the hit sci-fi fantasy show is almost upon us, and for Kingsley, the mysterious narrative is a fantastic option in a television landscape packed with bloodlust and barrier-breaking violence.

Kingsley - who portrays Karim Washington in the upcoming second series - recently spoke to Digital Spy about the appeal of The OA.

"You could deconstruct it and say that it's maybe the fact that all the kids are misfits and different, and there's some characters that we don't normally see represented who are represented. The way that they come together is unusual," he explained.
