Top Gear presenter Chris Harris has revealed how the show has changed following its latest presenter shake-up.

The new series will see Freddie Flintoff and Paddy McGuinness make their debuts on the long-running motoring show, while Chris is the only returning co-host.

Friends star Matt LeBlanc stepped down from the BBC Two show due to the demands of filming on his family life, while his co-presenter Rory Reid will host the online spin-off Extra Gear.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Chris explained how the new show compares to the previous series.

"It's a little bit different – I think it's more relaxed, and more approachable," he said. "The bandwidth of the show is greater.

"I think beforehand we had to try and insert some humour or levity into the more serious aspects of the show to retain the non-specialist audience.

"Now, these guys are so great – when we're together there's so much fun and joy in those big adventures. I think that gives us the chance for the straight bits of the show to be almost straighter.
