More than 500 pairs of wellington boots discarded by revelers at the Glastonbury Festival have been donated to migrants in Calais.
The wellies, as well as 2,000 unused ponchos and some first aid kits, were taken from Somerset to a camp at the French port, known as the Jungle.
The boots were meticulously sized, paired and quality controlled by a group of volunteers at the world famous festival, which is attended by 135,000 ticket holders.
The redistribution plan was the idea of Glastonbury's Liz Clegg, who recently helped distribute them in conjunction with Association Salam, a French charity that distributes clothes and food to the migrants.
A Glastonbury spokesman said: "While she was in Calais, Liz became aware that there is a massive issue at the jungle with rubbish collection and recycling.
